Meat Market Associate

This is a part-time, less than 35-hours-per-week position responsible for meat cutting and food safety. Meat market associates will be available to work during all operating hours including evenings and weekends. This position will earn $8.00 hourly, paid on a bi-weekly basis. No additional benefits are offered.

  • There are no specific education or experience requirements. However, applicants should be:

    • Interested in learning meat cutting, food safety, and retail operations.

    • Dependable, punctual, and able to follow instructions carefully.

    • Friendly and respectful toward coworkers and customers.

    • Able to stand for extended periods and lift moderate weights in a refrigerated environment.

  • Leadership & Culture

    • Demonstrate a positive attitude and commitment to teamwork under the direction of the Meat Market Manager.

    • Represent the store’s values of honesty, fairness, and hospitality in all interactions with customers and coworkers.

    • Contribute to a supportive, respectful, and safe workplace culture.

    Operations Management

    • Assist with cutting, trimming, and preparing meat products as instructed by the Meat Market Manager.

    • Properly package, label, and display products to maintain freshness and presentation standards.

    • Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health guidelines, including cleaning equipment and work surfaces regularly.

    • Monitor product quality, remove outdated or unsellable items, and maintain organized storage areas.

    • Help set up and restock displays and assist with unloading deliveries as needed.

    Customer & Community Relations

    • Provide friendly, helpful service to customers and answer basic product questions courteously.

    • Assist customers with simple requests or direct them to the Meat Market Manager for special orders.

    • Support the store’s mission to make every customer feel welcome, known, and appreciated.

    Financial & Administrative Responsibilities

    • Handle products carefully to reduce waste and maintain the department’s efficiency.

    • Accurately label prices and weights to ensure fair, transparent sales.

    • Follow store procedures for product tracking and safety documentation as directed.

    Employee Development

    • Learn and apply safe meat-handling and cutting techniques under supervision.

    • Seek feedback and training opportunities to build skills and confidence in department operations.

    • Exhibit reliability, professionalism, and pride in contributing to the team’s success.
